Progesteron Progesterone

Progesterone, also called the corpus luteum hormone, maintains the female cycle. After sexual intercourse, it promotes the mobility of sperm and their ability to penetrate the oocyte. It also transforms the lining of the uterus so that the fertilised oocyte can implant.

A progesterone value above the normal range can lead to cycle disorders.

A progesterone value below the normal range can also lead to cycle disorders, such as shortened intervals between menstrual periods or bleeding between periods.
