Basophilic granulocytes, or just “basophils”, are a type of white blood cell. They support your body’s immune response and are primarily involved with allergic responses and parasitic infections.
There is a close relationship between the immune system, fertility, and pregnancy. A dysfunction can lead to infertility and complications during pregnancy. Some research has found that basophils decrease during the follicular phase and increase on the day of ovulation, indicating a potential association with ovulation.
