HbA1C

The HbA1c value indicates the percentage of the glycohemoglobin HbA1c in the total haemoglobin. The HbA1c value reflects the long-term blood sugar and allows a conclusion to be drawn about the level of blood sugar over the last six to eight weeks. A high HbA1c value means that the body has absorbed too little sugar in the form of glucose from the blood over a long period of time, which can be a precursor to diabetes. An elevated HbA1c value often is one of the most important contributory causes of infertility and miscarriages.
